A Madrid printer incorporates the latest UV technology by installing ECO UV on his Heidelberg SM102 8P
The Spanish printing company Imedisa, based in Alcorcón (Madrid), has just updated its Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 8P press with the latest low-energy UV technology manufactured by Benford UV. The Eco UV system uses low energy UV inks that have been available in the market for some years, these are available in almost all ink manufacturers. Imedisa made the investment in UV since they wanted to have the ability to print on uncoated paper and increase productivity.
At first, we thought that the change to UV was going to be more difficult than it has been said Alejandro Rodríguez, of Imedisa. We are still in the process of adapting, but so far we have not had any problems. We had to change the batteries, the rubbers and the washing solution says Alejandro.
Benford was at our disposal to install, demonstrate and train our staff on the best way to use the system. The Eco UV system uses low energy UV inks that have been available in the market for some years, these are available in almost all ink manufacturers. We had no problem finding new inks, Alejandro continued. The production has increased, since the paper / cardboard can be manipulated immediately after being printed with the benefit of not having to use antiamaculating powders, since we obtain an instant drying of the inks.
Alejandro concludes: “A great advantage after installing the system is that we now have access to new possibilities in the printing market and we hope to print on new substrates like plastics in the future. It was a pleasure to work with Imedisa and see how they benefit from the advantages of UV technology,” said Marc Boden of Benford UV.
We have been in the UV sector for 30 years and it is always satisfying to see a customer who is more than satisfied with what we offer.
