Marc Boden – Intrepid Entrepreneur
Subscribers have enjoyed getting to know our team better, next up is our Managing Director, founder and leader of the team, Marc Boden. After school Marc gained qualifications as an electrical engineer, and then started working in the late ’80s at Wallace Knight, a pioneer company creating UV systems in the UK. He started as a UV service technician, but by the early 1990s was working on his own, providing servicing for all types of complex UV systems. This experience was the key factor in the success and advanced designs of Benford’s UV curing lamps and solutions.
Marc is a committed adventurer enjoying travel, outdoor activities and sports, building this as much as possible into his work life, as well as building a fun, vibrant, entrepreneurial and challenging culture at Benford. For those interested I am sure he will share his experience of completing 2 Marathon des Sables, a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon held every year in the Sahara Desert. It has been regarded as the toughest foot race on earth. His next adventure is a 10 day, 1500km rally across the Sahara desert on a motorbike with a group of fellow enthusiasts, in May 2023. Marc has a son and a daughter in their 20s, and his wife Marianne also works at Benford UV.
Marc loves to discuss new customer challenges and improving our designs and customer service, with the goal of supplying the very best UV curing systems to the printing industry. Core to this is his belief in delivering simplicity and quality for the customer at all stages of install, operate and maintenance of the systems.
